Default radio & antennae

;;;Hi folks,

New to the Tech Site. Great reading. Question on power antennae: Somebody snapped off the rear antennae but the power motor still operates. Is there a mast replacement available or do I have to repalce the whole unit? I have a cheap, fixed mast on the stem right now but every time we turn radio on/off the antennae motor cycles. Should I disconnect power to motor until I can find a cheap solution? Can you tell me how to do this, please.?
Thanks for you help. Joe

you can buy a new antenna mast from a benz dealer.

OK Thanks...I installed a mast but what about the power unit? How can I unplug it so it doesn't run with every on/off?

There is not way to turn the automatic up/down with the key "on or off". You could remove the trunk panel and disconnect the two wire power connector.
