Hello Everybody,

I am new member. I recently installed a security system in my 1996 Mercedes C280. Now the problem is that it is not connected to the door locks, i mean the security system works fine with the kill switch and alarms and everything but the person who installed it couldn't integrate the locking mechanism with the alarm system. I have to lock the car manually and then activate the alarm. Also have to open locks manually.

Please someone advise me what should i do in order to integrate the locks to the security system. I am pretty sure there must be a way. I have also attached image from the user manual provided with the security alarm system. Please let me know which wire should I attach to what wire, I will ask the same guy who installed the system to do that.

Morning, had exactly the same problem with a '96 Hyundai Lantra way back then...problem never sorted...took the system out of the car when I traded it and had it installed in a newer model...worked no problem...different installer...boils down to how competent your installer is I think

 

What was wrong with the factory installed system?
