after market security alarm
I called MB to ask about installing an alarm in my car and they said it was better to get an aftermarket one. Well stopped at a tint and alarm store today and they say they can't install one because of the wiring in the C230. Is this true, or they just can't do it or is there a certain brand that needs to be used?
You don't state the age of your car but I have to assume that it doesn't have an alarm fittedas standard..
If so an after market alarm can be fitted to any vehicle BUT the alarm will require access to power and door switch etc connections. At worse these can be duplicated i.e. new switches fitted to prevent need to break into existing wiring.
Only problem is knowing where to break into the existing electrics and if thevehicle uses digital electrics these splices can be problematic. Your MB garage should be able to give advise on this.
Any good auto electrician should be able to sort this out.
