Possibly Bosch Tuning my C240 2.6L W203
So I contacted PowerChip via email in regards to getting a chip for my '02 C240 and they were claiming a 18hp gain. I got some feedback on the forum about the negatives of a chip. It seems you will get an obvious power gain, but the longterm effects are simply not worth it. It will eventually damage your ECU in the span of a year since they program their chip outside of the parameters of your engine's capability.
There is a Bosch manufacturing plant here in Charleston, SC and I have a friend who's an engineer there. He referred me to their service shop called Autometerics that tune Mercedes, Audi's, Porsche's, and VW's. They're researching the best tune for my C240 and its mods and are going to get back to me with the specs as not to go beyond the engine's parameters, but still gain around 15hp/19ftlb. The cost is equivilent to the $490 PowerChips quoted. I'll post the response once I hear back.
