Hey all.

I think i found a good deal on a 2000 Mercedes CLK 430 that I want to buy, but just wanted to run it by here to see what anyone might have to say. I have done some research, and this car seems to have high ratings, and everything I am looking for. Right now I own a 2004 Saab 93 aero convertible, and i love it. i want to try and get the wife something european, and i ran across this car in my town. it has 63000 miles, auto/maunal transmission, heated seats, pwr rear sunshade, moonroof, pwer memory seats, seems, like all the options. it has the AMG wheels, but i don't know if it has the AMG package or suspension that was offered. not really sure how to tell. they are asking 20, 880, and i went in today to run numbers, and of course they tried playing the normal dealership games, thinking i was stupid, but basicall long story short, 450 a month. anything i should look at in particualr, and off bat, does this seems like a good deal? when i test drove it i was really impressed. a lot of power, and handled great. thanks in advance, and hope to join the mercedes family here!

Sorry no one ever responded but main thing to look for is make sure everything electrical is working.

 

thanks, i did sit down in it for a good bit and make sure everything was working, but loa and behold, one button i must have missed was the trunk button. it won't pop with the button in the cab, but it will open with the key. thanks for the response though.........

Nice looking pair always like saabs but i never see my self owning one kinda like how i like volvos and hondas good cars like um just dont love them enough to buy one. U like urs ok?

 

yeah, i really do like ours a lot. probably won't keep it past our warranty unless they come out with an extended warranty, but so far it has been really good to us. i hope this benz will be the same, but now i am really nervous about this rought idle its giving me...

 

Rough idle? like when you stop suddenly? Could be water in the fuel injection feed rails. A very common problem. They are flushable and a good fuel additive may correct this (try first). I need to flush mine and just haven't yet. Lazy and busy you know.

Also, you may want to check/change your air and fuel filter and look for a loose spark plug boot. Hope this helps and welcome aboard.

 

...no not when i stop suddenly persay, just when i come to a red light and am at a stop. the car shakes a bit, and the first time i noticed it, the tach was just a tad jumpy, and the temp rose slightly... then i took off, and everything was fine. from what i gather from reading online, it most likely could be motor mounts or MAFS. im just so nervous i just bought a lemon....

the dealership is going to look at it on monday, so the more feedback i get from you all the easier it makes it for me to tell them what i think it could possibl be. thanks for your response, i really appreciate it.
