Default Anyone Powerchipped their C-Class yet?

I've been researching ECU tuning for my C240 and everything seems to point to PowerChips. I know the C240 2.6L is not a beast by any means...lol, but every bit helps. They claim 168hp to 186hp for $490. What do you guys think?

Not a good idea, as I have found out, I have a mercedes c200 with the m111 engine fitted, and I chipped the ecu, and yes the performance was something to make you say WOW but not with-out its problems, it lead to very heavy fuel consumption, and poor running when the engine was cold, and also a flat spot when engaging "kick-down" the my mercedes also failed the emmission test on the mot, so, I had to remove the chip and have it re-set to factory pre-set and was also told by bosch i was lucky that the ecu had not been dammaged by fitting the chip. Bosch can re-mapp the ecu, and tweek it up, which will be with in the limits of the engine which will give you a extra 10 to 15 bhp which is exceptable but its not cheap to have done.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not worried about emissions since we do not test here nor the mpg increase, but I definitely do not want to damage my ECU. We have a Bosch plant locally and I have a friend that is an engineer there, so I might look in to having them tweak it within parameters for me rather than "chip" it. Is that what you ultimately did?

I contacted the local Bosch service department yesterday and they're going to research the best custom tune within the parameters of my C240 and its mods. Thanks again for the info on your experience with chips!
