I have a small problem. i hope you people can help me please. I drive a mercedes C 180 1996. i was listening to music in my car when the battery completely finished. i called my friend to bring her car and i tried to jump start the car but when i attached the jump leads n tried to start my car, massive sparks came out of my battery. twice it happened. so than i gave up and called my breakdown service, and the guy hooked up some some powerfull battery with mine and started my car. it started but than now i got 3 error lights appearing. The Active lights next to speedo meter are of "ABS", "Brakes" and "Handbrake" also the speedo meter has stopped working, where it shows you your speed. i have checked all my fuses but they are all ok. Please help me. what else can i do. i don't wana spends hundreds of pounds sorting it out. kindly make suggestions.

lol sounds like you hooked up the jumper cable backwards lol that can cause all kinds of damage to components lol. something to try it may fix a few things turn your wheel from left to right from stop to stop about 5 times let me know if your lights go out.

 

when you say turn your wheel from stop to stop 5 times, do you mean, start the car and than do it or leave the car off and turn the steering stop to stop. if the lights go out, i will donate £1 to your paypal account as a goodwill. [&:]

check fuses.

 

fuses seem to be ok. There are 2 fuse bozes. one is under the bonet and one one more fuse box is in the boot near the battery. i checked both of them and they are all ok. anything else.

 

hate to tell you this but you might need a mechanic.
