Default need to replace brake pads on C350

I'm going to replace the front and rear brake pads on a 2006 C350 soon. I've replaced them before on a '99 E320 with no problems. Is it a similar job for the C350? How many sensors does it take? Thanks.

Default Brake pad replacement

Aolis, if you can change pads you can change the ones on your 350. As for the sensors, my dealer told me there were 2 when I went to buy the pads but there is actually only one. When you change them make sure the hole for the sensor is close to the metal backing, if not I would drill another hole. Mercedes likes to position this hole quite far from the metal backing so the light comes on much sooner than the required 2/32". When I light came on I had probably another 15-20k miles left on them. In fact on my brother's S430 when the dealer told him he needed brakes it was another 6 months when it was down to 2/32"........

You're right. I figure I still have at least two more months left on the pads. Is that one sensor for the front and one sensor for the back? Or is it one sensor for all four.Thanks.

Default Brake pads

Dear Aolis, I did not see any sensors for the back. For me usually the rule of thumb is 2 fronts to one back.

Having replaced the pads and rotors more than once on my '05 C230, I can tell you that Mercedes put ONE SENSOR on the right front and nothing else anywhere. This is done because you typically find on these cars the front pads wearing out before the rear, so you don't need one in the rears. You also only need ONE in the front, since pads typically wear about evenly from side to side of a car. So, the one sensor does it all. They can be bought online for about 8 bucks each. (At least they are for my car). The sensors are put within the pad that way for a reason. They know people will not drive immediately to a shop to have the pads, etc. replaced when the light comes on from the tripped sensor, so they allow considerable time for that in the pad sensor.
