how to replace brake rotors/pads
I have a 2000 E320 and I am trying to replace the pads/rotors. I was able to remove the pads and calipers but the rotor was so stubborn, it would not want to come off the hub. I just ordered a repair manual for this car but have not yet received it. If anybody has experienced similar problem and have a solution, I would like to hear and learn from that. Thanks in advance

After you take that bolt out, you can have a problem with taking the rotor of because it's frozen/rusted. In that case allyou need - big hammer and something like SRS Rust-off. I haven’t seen 2000 year model, but I don't think it's muchdifferent from 94. If there were something else holding rotor in place - you would see it!

thank you rostov. I tried WD-40 but it didn't work. I will try SRS Rust-off as you indicated. I just bought a puller and will try it this week-end. It must be rusted pretty badly in there. It is also very hard to find any references to this type of service in detail without having to buy it at the dearler and it is expensive. Anyway thanks.
You are welcome.

It's CRC, not SRS - sorry!

It's very common situation - do not be afraid to use hammer!

Hi,

Will the same procedure work for a 1993 190E 2.6. I was able to change the pads/rotors for the front but the rear ones are a really stuck. I tried the hammer but only on the hub part and not the disk and that too I was hammering into the rotor instead of pushing it out. Thanks.
