Default How to replace Head Gasket?

I was told that my head gasket for a 1994 C280 needs replacement. My car overheats and smoke comes out. There is an oil leak and oil also gets into the radiator.
Could someone please provide me pictures of the engine and how to replace the head gasket?
I know it is a major job but I have a mechanic who has worked on my car before and said he will do it but needs to see the diagram before he will work on it.

Thanks.

Sleepwalker is right .... If the Mechanic you "have" doesn't have the "right" info....(or at least access to it) You may "have" the "wrong" Mechanic.

Then again, if it's just that he needs specific specs (ie.. head torque specs.. etc..., then that's a different story).

I know several guys that are Non-Mercedes Mechanics that are quite capable of the job, but would require specs. to do it.

Please let me know if that is the case and I will try to provide whatever specs you need.
Cheers
