Hesitant Acceleration
Hi, I have a 2009 CLC 350 and have noticed that when i want to overtake there's a slight delay dropping down the gears when i hit the accelerator. I only noticed it as I had a hire car for a couple of days which was faster at doing this. My dealership called it "Hesitant Acceleration", said it was a known fault and "may" be fixed by a software upgrade. Is anyone familiar with this? I've got to take it back to the dealership in a couple of weeks when they say they'll have the latest software update (which they say won't cost me anything), but I'm a little worried if it doesn't fix it as my warranty has just expired. If it's a known fault, are Mercedes obliged to fix it?
I have a new 2010 C300 Sport 4 Matic and it dos the exact same thing. I have not been back for any service, but I will give service a call to see if they have a fix...It is annoying to say the least, otherwise all else is great. Getting around 25 mpg w/o air and 24 w/air on.
the software flash might take care of your complaint. ive seen the flashes fix multiple issues. they are supposed to flash the engine and transmission. the flashes are covered 4 yrs 50,000 miles. after that they usally charge and hour for the flash.
I did take my new C-300 Sport in for a service check. They were great. When I left it off, they said they did not know if any flash upgrades were even out for the 2010 and sure enough there were both engine and transmission upgrades. The result is that it seems to have lessened the hesitation. I did experience it once since the visit, but I think the conditions warranted a downshift that most cars would hesitate on. So, by all means I would take it in to your dealer and see. They also noted that when in the C position it was a bit more prevalent, but in the S position it was much reduced. They suggested using S position for normal driving and the C position for less torque traction on winter days. I still use both.
