Garage Door - Manual says ok but...
My beautiful wife attempted to compensate for the the now "empty nest" with the puchase of a 2007 C280. Very frustrated that we cannot get the garage door opener on the mirror to work. We followed the manual instructions to the "T" and got all of the results the manual said we should get...except it doesn't open/close the garage door. I have checked the garage door opener manual and this brand does not have the rolling code feature. Any suggestions?

make sure you hold down the the 2 outter butoons to clear out the memory. have to hold them for like 60 seconds it seems until the red lites flash again. then the buttons should have a slow flash...i think it might even be red in color...when they are not programmed. your not the only person with that complaint. seems like a crappy setup if you ask me.
maybe you have to push that button on the back of the garage door motor and learn it to the mirror?? i dont know just a thought.

Thanks for the insight. My concern with holding the buttons for 60 seconds is the manual says 20 and "no more than 30." Again, everything the manual says is supposed to happen happens (flashing light, steady light, etc.) when we follow what the manual says. Just doesn't work!!! Also, we don't have the rolling code feature that would require "teaching" the car remote. It "trains" the hand held which in turn is supposed to train the car remote. I agree it's a stupid setup if for no other reason than the mirror is always moved when you hit the button. Going to try to 800 number in the manual and see what they have to say. Thanks again.
