If the car is not in Park mode then the key won't come out. Maybe this is an issue with your tranny not fully dis-engaging. I have not had this problem happen in at least 6 months so that could well be your problem.

If it feels like your shifter isn't "engaging" in park all the way, that could be the problem. My 94 has done that before, and I noticed that the shifter didn't go all the way left, it was kinda on the corner. Make sure it's fully in park and push it to the left.
