I just recently purchased a c230 coupe and i noticed that when i accelerate theres this ticking sound...and if i let up off the gas...the sound dissapears, then when i hit the gas again it come back, does anyone have a clue what this might be?

 

I have the same noise - it seems to come only from the passenger side of the car. I cant tell if it is in the front or the back. However mine c230 coupe does not make the sound everytime I accelerate. I will notice the sound while driving over 25 mph. I am beginning to think it may be the type of raod (paving); because I will hear it, then trun off onto a differnt road..and its gone. I am not getting this confused with the splits in the road or bumps - just a thaught. Have you found out what the noise my be?
