Default C230 Coupe Sunroof Problem

I have a 2003 C230 Coupe. The front sunroof is the problem. The plastic clips that go inside the ends of the rail at the front of the shade or cover broke. Is there an easy fix for this or does it require major work? I absolutely hate going to the dealership and was hoping I could fix this at home. Any help or info is greatly appreciated.

I recently replaced my headliner including the part of the shade, so I was able to see what was going on inside the sunroof system (it's a long story, but I almost hecked out everything). The whole sunroof system looks pretty simple. If it's not an electrical problem, that'd be an easy fix I guess.
I know you don't want to go to the dealership. Neither do I. But that's where you can get most of the parts.
Go to a local dealership and ask a part guy if they have that part. Tricky thing is most of small parts come with a main part (for example, I recently took off my passenger seat. I tried to put it back on, and I realized that one bolt was missing. I went to a dealership today and asked a guy about the bolt. He told me that the bolt came with the seat, so I need to buy a whole seat system which will cost me thousands of dollars.).
Hey nothing to lose. Check it out with them. Who know they might sell the one you need. Or try junk yard. That might work.

I have found out that the whole shade must be replaced, you can't just buy the clips. My only question is how hard would this be to replace? I am guessing the headliner will need to be removed.

Yeah, that's what I guessed...
By the way, would be more specific about the clips? Depending on what you are talking about, you may not have to remove the headliner.

Well, there is a metal bar at the front of each cover. On each end of this bar there are plastic pieces that slide into the end of it. These peices go into the sunroof rail and engage the wormgear/rod/mechanism thatslides to open/close the shade.

If the plastic pieces interlock with rails, you can try to take them off (metal bars). I think glass has nothing to do with the pieces you are talking about.

1999 slk 230 and have found the leak from the cyclinder in the roof that controls the roof. How do you disconnect the lines so I can put a new cyclinder on?
