C-280 Oil
Need more info. Like where do you live and what tempatures is your car exposed to. Although, I will say that Mercedes calls for 0w-40. I have been told by a local mercedes doctor that you don't want to go higher than 5w-40. Because the tolerances are so small. However, there are other people that simply adhere to the tempature school of thought.
c280 wizard should chip in here, he knows far to much about oil <
but i run 10w-40 shell syntech i think it was called, i live in New zealand moderate climate.
you could probebly run a high quality fully sethentic in your car and extend the oil change interval

I wonder if MB recommends different weight oil for the straight 6 and the V-6?
I have the V-6 and I know that MB dealers will recommend 0w-40 Synthetic.
My local mech recommends 5w-30 in the C-Class, but I told him to go with 0w-40 untill I checked around.
The thing is, a lot wrench heads I've talked with say to keep the low and high numbers as close a possible. In other words , the more multi-visc your oil, the worse it protects you engine. I'm not exactly sure if this caveat applies to synthetic oil.
BTW, I live on the West Coast and it rarely gets below freezing in the winter. I prob don't need the 0w oil, but then I feel it starts to lubricate more quickly at start up, so I use it.
