Does anyone have recommendations for the best brand oil and weight for a 2001 E320? Is synthetic oil better for engine life?

 

Personally I like Castrol Syntec though any good sythetic oil is good. I would use the weight recomended in ur car.

Btw, how long did it take u to get ur key?

 

The Mercedes Dealership had the key Fed-Exed to me. I was able to get the key the next day, although they told me it would take several.

Castrol Syntec is a great oil and so is Mobile 1. I don't see much difference between the two over the last 15 years of use. I do change oil at 12,000 miles and run well over 200000 on each car with no issues.

For weight,, depending where you live. If you live in the south 10w30 If you live in North Dakota in the winter 0w20.

So temps do make a differnece even on synthetic. Hope this helps.. Jim
