I just developed an annoying faint squeak when running either the fan or air conditioner. It is less noticeable at higher RPM's. I'm figuring it is probably a belt or a bearing issue. Anyone have any similar experience? Any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dave '01 C240

 

Please clarify: is the squeak coming from your dash (meaning its in the climate control mechanism) or is it from the engine compartment?

 

If it's coming from under the hood, it sounds like you might want to take a look at the belt and/or the tensioner. Check to see if there are any cracks in the belt, and also if there is glazing on the belt, it probably needs to be replaced.
