Hello everyone;
I'm new here and new to Mercedes. Just bought a minty 99 C280. Everying is great but the climate control panel does not illuminate. I checked all the fuses in the main fuse box and pressed a million buttons on the dash to no avail. Any suggestions?

 

You will probably need to replace the control panel as I don't think you can replace the bulbs. Its most likely an internal issue if all the lights are inop.

 

I took the car to an ordinary car audio place today. The tech popped out the panel in less than 60 seconds. The bulb was on the underside of the control box in a little white holder. The bulb was tiny and it did turn out to be bad. A new one should cost about $3.50. Whew. They didn't charge me so I gave the guy a 10-spot. This is a two minute repair. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
