Default '96 C280 ..coolant leak problem

Hey Guys,

Here is the situation. I drive my '96 C280 and when I come home and park the car , as soon as I turn the engine off I see coolant fluid starting dropping on my garage floor. Sometimes it is about 5-6 oz , and sometimes nothing.
And it is leaking from the side of the transmission. Is it a broken hose ?
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

that sounds like it could just be from the evaporator water from the A/C. that drips right at the transmission. unless your sure that it is really coolant by smell or color. maybe hose to back of head bad and leaking down bell housing of transmission.

Yes, I am 100% sure it is the coolant that is leaking by smell, color and taste.
Then I should replace the whole hose?
Any recommendation how it is done the right way? I haven't done hose replace ment so far.Do I need to drain the coolant fluid first?

Thanks!

there isnt any coolant hoses by the transmission. im not sure what to tell you. unless its coming down the back of the engine from a freeze plug or a heater hose in the back of motor!!then dripping off the transmission. there is a hose at the very back of the engine that goes into the engine block its pretty far down and might be hard to see.
