2005 c230 MAF can I try unplugging and replugging?
Failed emissions today and after the code p0171 and describing some of the symptoms (rough idle, usually have to out in park at red lights) to mechanic and doing some googling , I think it's the MAF.
the check engine light has been intermittent, so will go off, usually depending on fuel level. I'm wondering if I could unplug it and replug it in ( or possibly leave it unplugged) to try to pass emissions? If it wasnt plugged in would the check engine light go off/code reset? I cant get it fixed until next Thursday and it seems like theres just enough things to unplug that idk if I could replace it myself (based on YouTube video). Also do I need to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery to try unplugging it and then plugging it back in?
27 year old female that knows nothing about german cars, could get around my GMC Yukon under the hood but I dont wanna activate the theft system and have it lock up on me by playing w the battery!
