Default 2003 C230 Sport version confusion (for brake rotors)

Hey all,

I am banging my head on the wall trying to find out what type of brake rotors/pads I need to get for my 2003 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan. When I ordered them from an online vendor, they asked me if I had the "Sport Package" or not. I assume I do, given the words "C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan" were on the sticker when I bought it. Then the vendor tells me there are two types - one with a sport package and one that is "different". WTF???

He tells me I need to call a dealership and give them my VIN - they'll be able to tell me.

The dealerships are not very helpful - I've called two local dealers with my VIN and either they don't know, or they are not being forthcoming. I am told the parts show up for them in their program based on the VIN I give them - no further information.

So how the heck do I figure out what brake rotors and pads I need to buy? I sure as heck am not going to buy them from my local stealerships.

Thanks for everyone's help in advance!

Sam

The "sport" rotors are drilled. Look at your FRONT rotors. Do they have holes drilled in them?
Then those are the ones you want to replace them with. The rears won't be drilled. Regular rotors
are fine there.

Ohyeah, I forgot....you might want to try some "ceramic" brake pads.
Less dust, easier on the rotors, and last longer. A bit more money, but worth it.
My opinion only, of course.

JUST FYI!!!! if you decidded to swith to drilled rotors, from what I've been told you can't turn them down the road, and you can with solid rotors. I always switch to new because I like the peace of mind knowing I have good brakes, but turning is always a cost saving alternative, provided your rotors are still well within safe limits.
