Default 2000 C230 Kompressor Door Locks

My door lock and my trunk release has ceased to function, from both the factory remote/key and from the switches. Also the the rear headrest putter downer thingie doesn't work any more. Possible vaccum pump failure or is my car just a turd?!? Add this to the fact that the driver rear window doesn't work and the fact that my check engine light is on = possible turd I think. Any suggestions?

door locking sounds like the rear SAM problem.

it also controls the rear head restraints.

the rear window, you need to check that. can you feel some actuation whenever you press the switch?

engine light... check faults, adapt control unit... or deactivate the turd.

Nope, rear window is dead in the water. It's crazy, put my car in a show and had to disconnect my battery because it was an indoor show. Reconnected the battery, resynchronized everything and the window has not worked since. The code scanner at the shop showed 1 code, "P0410 Secondary Air Injector Problem". Possible mass air sensor?

The car still runs like normal with the check engine light on.

nope.

the air pump maybe is not activated. before it is activated, there are requirements to be met. if one of those requirements is missing, or the air pump is faulty, then there goes your fault code.

it is the oxygen sensor that knows this problem. possibly the O2 is faulty too... we'll never know.

must check also if the air injection shutoff valve is working... and the vacuum hose connected to it is okay. if you disconnect that vacuum line... PO410 will appear.

Hmmm, well either way it's off to the dealership I go tomorrow with the sexy turd. Thank god for warranties. Thank god the salesman was dumb enough to get conned into giving me a 3 year warranty. Also I forgot the display on the instrument cluster is all screwy, can't read the temperature, mileage, or the miles left until service. I have absolutely no idea how many miles my car has on it. It had 40,000 when I bought it a year ago but the display stopped working a couple of months later (I'm lazy, just now getting around to turning it in on the warranty. Good thing too because I have a list of things to fix and I'll only have to pay one deductible).........

at this sort of juncture....i would either jump off the gloden gate bridge; or yell out loud, "should have bought an Accord," and pound my head against the wall.

sounds like you bought a turd! I purchased a pre-owned 2000 4matic C230 with 42K miles a month ago, mint condition, haven't had any mechanical problems knock on wood!! Everything appears to be in good working order. I did see in maint records at the dealer thought that there was a check engine light problem and they replaced the fuel cap to fix the problem. I had this same issue with my 2000 Chevy Tahoe and that fixed it.
