1997 c200 vs 1994 c280- which should i buy????
Hi everyone,
new member from OZ here
, only a few minutes infact, would really appreciate your knowledge on this matter.
the 1997 c200 classic has done 166,000 kms (5 speed auto)
the 1994 c280 elegance only 108,000kms (4 speed auto)
to cut to the chase i guess i'd like to know:
- considering the c200 is 5 speed vs the 4 speed c280...... is the difference in performance really that noticeable?
- is the savings in fuel economy worth the reduction in performance?
- is there a big difference in service/maintenance costs?
please help, want to buy anice c-classthis weekend! thanks!!!!

Hi,
I got '96 C280 Elegance Sport with 196,000 kms on it and I am pretty happy about.
The fuel economy is not that bad. The difference between the C200 and C280 is just a little one.
So, if you are interested in performance and more power get the C280 if you are considering fuel economy then get the C200.
