RE: TWO MALFUNCTIONS
OK..here's a more accurate timeline....4wks ago brakes went out (no warning lights came on)...dealer repaired pads/rotors & a ruptured section of brake line...along w/ Service A and 2 motor mounts......vehicle has 78,900 miles..
....3 wks later when steering wheel turned full R or L the 2 malfunction lights appear...
1) ABS 2) BAS/ESP
SO.......was wondering if there's a connection between repair work & new issue

RE: TWO MALFUNCTIONS
no.
not unless they adjust the end stop screw of the steering. by that case the sensor sends signal to the control unit that the angle was larger than what is programmed on memory.
try disconnecting/reconnecting the battery and initialize the steering angle sensor again.

RE: TWO MALFUNCTIONS
Good replies here to your symptoms. Agree with battery disconnect for a few minutes, then before re-initializing the steering, check for any computer DTC codes. Recordand then clear all codes. Re- initialize steering. Let us know what happens. thanks.
