3 malfunctions /2001 S500
after filling up the tank then taking a short ride home ,next restart i get a check engine lite . Hoping it was somthing minor i tighten the gas cap , disconnect and connect the battery hoping to reset . But to my surprise 3 malfunctions . 1 - BAS code 2- ESP code 3- airmatic and the check engine lite comes back on ! When i try to acelerate in park the rpms harly move . If any one has any leads to what might have happened and what those codes mean please let me know . The car has 39000 miles with no warranty . At a minimum i would like to know what to expect before going to the dealer , the car was perfect before filling up . Lol .

Sleepwalkers post should clear the ESP, Airmatic issue but why is the CEL on at startup?
Need to understand the DTC codes. Need to get diagnostics DTC's read with an appropriate scanner.

Thanks for the fast response, what Sleepwalker said cleared all malfunctins(Thanks). The check engine light is still on. The fuel filter has never been replaced. Do you think this is the cause for the light? If so, where is it located? And is it hard to replace? If brought to the dealer what would be a fair cost for replacement?

Fuel filter COULD make a difference but unlikely.
You need to get the codes read as I stated in the previous post. Only then will there be sufficient information to even start to determine what is wrong.

there is a possibility that your air mass sensor is faulty since: when you disconnect the battery, the adaptation memory was cleared and the basic value cannot give the correct mixture...hence:
it can be also of other reason. try replacing the fuel filter first... or check fuel pressure (must be at least 2.8 bar).
