Transmission fluid

Is Dextron III the correct fluid for my '91 300E? How many quarts does it take to change trans fluid if I drain the torque converter?

The dextron fluid is fine. Start with 4 qts, start the engine and add 2 more and check it . Should hold about 7 qts with a converter drain.
