Default sunroof problem

this is on a 00 s500
i had a loose ground on the battery. i completely disconnected it then reinstalled it.
now my sun roof is giving me problems. it only moves about an inch when i try to open it.
if i push the switch up the sunroof goes down. does it need to be reprogrammed or maybe the
switch fried?

i am aslo changing my fuel sending unit this weekend. any pointers wiould be great.
thanks

sounds like you just need to syncronize the roof- run the sunroof all the way back- be it a little at time then hold it for about 5 seconds- then run it forward and hold it again. you might have to try it a couple of times to syncronize, i always do! are you talking about the fuel level sensor or the fuel filter?

On a 00 Benz I hope to hell he means the fuel filter cause I am tired of all the problems i am hearing about newer benzes. Starting to think this is a Jaguar Forum.

you can get to the fuel level sensor by removing the center panel in front of the trunk- your supposed to remove both the left and right side panels but it can be done with some patience and perseverance. once you get it out of the way it's right in the center of the tank towards the top. mercedes has a special tool for removal but you can use a pair of 90 degree needle nose pliers. good luck.
