Default Squealing Brakes 2005 SL500

The front brakes on my SL are starting to make a squealing noise when braking which is quite annoying. I was told by the Tech at the MB dealer that there is no problem and that the rotors and pads were still in good condition
The car has only 25000 miles. Is there a cure?
Thanks

you have 3 choices.......replace the pads and rotors....deal with the noise untill the pad warning light comes on.......remove the pads, give the calipers a good cleaning, re-lube the pads generously (anti-seeze) and hope it goes away.

I think this is a common problem with most newer Benzes. I know that we have this liquid made by BG that comes in a small bottle that usually helps with this problem... But honestly, I wouldn't worry about it until your brake message comes on.

Default BG Products

Not sure of policy here concerning bringing old threads back to life but this one fits my topic.

Borrowing a friends 1999 SL today & after an inspection I took it over to a mechanic I know along with the BG Stop Squeal part #806 in a 1oz bottle and & the 608 Lube.

Pads (Jurid) & rotors were in good shape as i had been told but the noise was awful. One bottle does one axle, 4 pads so I ask for the front to be serviced.

Turned away & the mechanic was pouring the liquid on the shim side of the pad until I corrected him! That is how foreign adding something straight to a pad surface is for most mechanics.

We used 95% of the bottle & waited the 15 minutes prior to re-assembly. Quiet as a church mouse as I drove off. Fingers crossed for now.

$6 on Ebay & $40.00 to my mechanic.

BG Brake Lube
BG Brake Lube is a truly unique, multi-purpose grease which represents the most advanced technology in grease lubrication. It performs exceptionally well in automotive, marine and industrial environments, in hot or cold temperatures, under wet or dry conditions, and with light or heavy loads. BG Brake Lube will mix with virtually any other soap-based grease. Seal compatibility is excellent in a wide variety of materials such as Hytrel,® Viton® and Neoprene.

Hytrel® and Viton® are registered trademarks of DuPont Dow Elastomers.

BG Stop Squeal
Most brake noise is caused by vibrations that occur when pressure is applied. BG Stop Squeal works on the simple principle of impregnating the brake pad with ingredients that reduce sticking between the pad and rotor. When pressure is applied, the vibrations are significantly reduced, thus brake noise is stopped or is markedly less noticeable.
