sensor location
Hello,
Before I anyone thinks I'm an idoit, the trunk and the luggage cover are closed.
I have a 99 clk320
and the softtop just stopped working, the dealer is 2 hours away, so I always try to fix the problem myself before taking the trip.
Apparantly the top has a number of sensors that must sequentailly check as the top goes through the processes of rasing/lowering
can anyone show me the location/schematic and some testing tchnics on how to diagnose which sensor is bad
the switch blinks slowly.
also, would low fluid be the problem, and where is the resevoire?
My vin is WDBLK65G8XT017894 in case this helps.

RE: sensor location
it definately has something to do with the roll bar, after trouble shooting every sensor I can find. It magically started working after I played with the roll bar switch. The roll bar goes up but will not go down. if you press and hold the roll bar up, after a few seconds the tonnau cover pulls down for a split second, I think the car must be sensing that the roll bar is up and that is why it won't move the roof. Has anyone had any problems with this and what can be done to remedy this.

RE: sensor location
I know that the roof will not work with the roll bar up, but it will not go down.
If I press and hold the rollbar button up, the tonneau cover jerks up violently.
also, where is the reseviore? and the screw inside the trunk should it be tight to the left or tight to the right.

RE: sensor location
are you talking about the roof or the rollbar?
if you want to release the roof manually, to the left to open the pressure.
the rollbar is spring loaded. you need to press the catch in order to take it down.
