Does anyone know of a drop in replacement for R-12 refrigerant? I didn't want to spend the money to retrofit for R-134. Thanks for your help

 

I have a friend of mine who bought R-12A which is a
direct replacement for R-12.
It supposedly takes less as the molecules are larger than
R-12.
I think when one buys a case of R-12A, the cost is like
$8 per can and you don't need a license.

I just bought some R-12 replacement today , its called freeze 12 and I got it at a local auto parts store. About $9.00 a can. Put it a 83 chrysler and it worked great.
