I have some problems with my 2001 SLK 230. First, my alarm just starts going on for no reason. I now keep it off because it is so embarrasing to walk away from my car and the alarm goes off. The second thing that has happened is the door locks are constantly opening and locking while I am driving. I want to keep this car and I just need to know where to start.
I also noticed a small leak on my engine and I located the small drip from the front of the engine when I took the cover off.
Any help on these matters would be appreciated.

abel in your trunk under your spare tire area not sure which side, there is what looks like a foam box. in it is whats called your PSE pump, it controls alarm and door lock functions. slk's leak from the trunk seals and water gets into that pump and they go crazy. the pump is black and has i think 2 electrical connections going to it and a bunch of yellow vacuum lines. take of the connectors and see if they look green from corrosion.. if they are clean the connectors with contact cleaner and get a new pump. they are a few hundred dollars new. also be careful when you remove the vacuum lines so you dont break the connector, and dont mix up the lines, the way they came off the old pump is the way there have to be installed...let me know....frank
