I recently changed the oil and filter on my '92 300E and it was driving fine for two days until this morning. When I came to a stop, with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, I felt the car sort of stutter-step or lunge foward but in short sequences, almost like it wanted to take off. To add to this, the oil pressure guage was fluctuating from 1-3 very rapidly, again, in short sequences. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

 

So, what are your thoughts? Could your oil pump being going out? Or, how about the sending unit?

 

I was thinking it was something electrical...but now that you said the pump, its hard to tell right now...Could the grade of oil make a lot of difference or at least play a role in this?
