Hello,

I am new to this forum. My name is Sandy and I recently bought a 1999 C230 Komprssor and I noticed that the red paint on the supercharger is bubbled and flaking off as if due to extreme overheating. I had a diagnostic check done and everything checked out. Noone could tell me why this happened or if it was normal for this car. Does anyone else have this problem or am I worried about something that is no big deal?

 

welcome sandy...my guess is that the paint isn't made to sustain the heat from the engine...especially over the seven year period, so it begins to deteriorate.

 

Thanks I appreciate the info. Just being a worry wart. I was hoping someone has had the same problem could agree with you.
