You want to order the egr valve along with the tubing, flare fitting, and pipe. 50% the time, the egr tube will break/be stuck to the valve itself and will need to be cut off. The good news is that the egr valve has a new switchover solenoid with it. check the vacuum line going to the egr switchover before buying an egr valve though. Pretty simple to replace, common failure with age. The 220 chasis "s" class had a few issues, especially with the launch units. Common thrust arm and ball joint failures. The control arm bushings were also breaking occasionally and cut into the subframe, therfore requiring entire subframe. Many problems with front struts leaking at the top capsules and airmatic pump failures. A nice car to drive but you can sink alot of money into it really quick! If you want a vehicle to work on yourself, this is not the right choice but i'd take it over a 7 series any day.
