hi tony!

i have a 1997 e280 with automatic transmission. i put the gearbox to the "d" position. it drives to about 3rd gear and disengages while driving. it wont then re-engage. i switch the car off for 10 secs and switch it on again. the garbox re-engages but it gets to 3rd gear again and disengages again. what is the problem? is it that the auto transmission fluid levels are low?

Default Engine Replacement?

I need a new engine on my '83 300CD Turbo Diesel. My usually machanic doesn't really want to do it. He is getting pretty old. And one of the engines I am thinking about buying needs to be installed by an ASE certified mechanic. Or I am debating buying a car that has been in an accident that has/maybe had a good engine or buying a rebuilt one on-line with a warrentee. But there is a list of things that have to be done to validate the warrentee that I am guessing are going to be very expensive. Any thoughts? Know any good people on the Westside of LA, CA?

Default 86 190D wiring problems/shut off

Hi Tony,

I just bought a 86 190D, got it for real cheap but it has some issues. When you turn on the right blinker, lights, or press the horn, the windshield wiper turns on, but the functions themselves don't actually work. I don't know much about wiring, but could you let me know where to start? Also, when I turn the key off the engine still runs, luckily its a stick, so I just kill it in first gear, but I would like to fix the problem. Let me know if you have suggestions. Thanks.

Hi Tony
I took my CLK to a mechanic to diagnose the check engine light warning, It is the Air Mass Meter.
Were can I purchase an Air Mass Meter for my 2001 clk320? Also after I install it will that turn off the check engine light, or does it have to be reset?

Thanks

Default Dignostic report fault code

My C230k 2004 sedan have a diagnostic report fault codes P0452 and P0172. A mechanic told me that had problems with the pressure sensor low input and need to replace the fuel pump assembly. I was searching the web and I find that this model has two fuel pumps one in the passenger side and other on the driver's side. Which of the two is the report? Anyone know what the replacement number for this part? And install it.
