Modulator location

Modulator location

On my 1994 C220, can anyone tell me where the modulator for the transmission is located? I am experiencing rough shifting , especially going into 4th gear and have been advised this is probably the problem.

middle right side.

the black round plastic box. there's a vacuum hose connected to it. see if it got vacuum.
