The two front seats in my 95 E320 cabrioletwill notlock in place. They are always able to tilt forward....incl when driving.
My understanding is that they should only tilt forward freely when the motor is running and the door is ajar, or when the seat release button is pressed.
My mechanic seems uncertain of how to remedy, and I'm unsure whether or not to let it go, or if it's a safety issue. The owners manual says it's a pneumatic system, and I fear big $$$$.
Honestly? I'm making every effort to keep everything functioning as a Mercedes should.
Any ideas on what the "fix" is would be greatly appreciated.
