Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting an E class and would like some guidance on what are the best model years and also whether anyone has an opinion of the E500 or AMG, E550 4Matic models based on reliability......This will be a commuter car and I will most likely put 20K+ miles a year on the vehicle. I'm leaning towards the V8 models because I have a 911 and a supercharged Range Rover so I'm used to ample HP/Torque and have become accustomed.

Due to the high mileage that I'll be putting on the vehicle I'm looking at pre-owned and a car with 80-100K miles on it doesn't concern me if it's not going to be a hanger queen.

Pre-2002 or 2006+ should be a good starting point (sticking within these years will save you $$$ and headaches!).
