Diesel Sounding CLK
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum having just bought a CLK200 (1998). There appears to be a problem with my new car, however, when idling the car sounds like a diesel, in other words a bit rough!
I showed it to a mechanic friend of mine who said it was the belt tensioner moving. This is as a result of a problem in the alternator pully which is not 'slipping' or some such thing. Does this sound like a feasable explanation?
If so, I was wonderingwhether MB parts are interchangeble? i.e. could I get an alternator(or pully) from another 2 litre MB and use it on my CLK?
Korks.
