I have an 85. The heat is one all or nothing. You can get a million miles on the engine. Its a hell of a vehicle. Not familiar with electrical problems.

I have an 87 300D with 250000 miles, and it still runns like a champ. I regards to your heater problem, most likely your heater valve solenoin is not funtioning. Its easy to fix, and you can get them at most junk yards for a few bucks. The funtion of this part is to keep hot water from entering you heater core. If this doesnt fix the problem, you might need to replace the climate contol panel. I'm not sure how the sunroof on your particular car works, but on mine, the motor is in the trunk near the power antenna motor, and the roof opens and closes with a cable; perhaps the cable on your is disconnected or broken. None of my dash light worked when I first got the car, so I pulled it out, cleaned all the connections, and its all good now.

If you use comon sense and take your time, plus have some electrical knowedge. You can find the problems. 183000 is not a lot of miles if it has recieved good maitenence before, but if it was neglected simple such could add up. Good safe vehical and the slow part should keep you out of trouble/ Should.
