Default Cannot Turn off EC light in Control Panel - 200 E320

I have a 2000 E320 and I noticed that my EC light was on and I am unable to turn it off. I tried the RESET button and it did not make any difference. My AC was working the day prior to this happening. It blows air, however, it is not cold as expected. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

EC stands for Economy = Air Con OFF.

Since the EC lamp is permanently lit (i.e. it doesn't go off when you press the switch) it is presumably signalling an air con system fault of some type.

I'm sure you will be deluged with posts indicating the possible cause of such a fault.

e.g. Faulty switch, Low refrigerant, Excess pressure, Low pressure, Faulty compressor clutch etc. etc..............

sunny when the EC light cannot be turned off you have a fault code stored in your ACC module--automatic climate control. you most likey have a leak and when you lose enough refigerant thats when the pressure sensor sets a code in your module. that code has to be reset with a scanner, if you disconnect your battery it will not erase the code. but dont get it erased until you fix the problem. on your model under the left front bumper by your fog light there is a receiver dryer, which is like a filter and a storage place for the refrigerant. there is a small a/c line from the dryer to the condensor, that line leaks a lot.
