c240 vibration over 80mph
Hi,
My 2002 C240 now vibrates over 80mph. Going faster doesn't help. A smoother road does help, but doesn't eliminate the problem. Also, I believe (unless I never noticed it before) this is a new problem.
I just had it in to fix a rattling noise from under the car that sounded like a loose heat shield, I was close - it was inside the catalytic converter. They replaced it and the rattle is gone. I thought the vibration might have been part of that problem (heat shield hanging loose and catching air, producing drag...) but it wasn't. The vibration problem persists.
Has anyone heard of this problem before? Or know what it might be?

I agree. Tires.
Sometimes the sick-on weights fall off, or get blown off at the carwash when washing your wheels, and that makes the tires out of balance.
Or maybe the tires are worn-out.
