Thank you again. It seems this would indicate that the drainpipe is located perhaps just forward of passanger leg-space, and nearer outboard than at center . Do you agree?

I can relate to freon odor. No, I really think the smell was, or maybe still is, simply old leaf debris maybe getting wet. (And the refrigeration works very well. I'm not worried about losing freon. I don't think that's an issue here.) There were some small leaves in that corrugated filter you helped me R&R. Does moisture collect around that filter when it is somewhat dirty and maybe a little bit cloggeg? If it does, that could explain the smell - those little leaves getting damp. Also, having cleaned it now, and the smell not reappearing, might indicate that we've solved the odor problem. Now I'll focus on finding the drain hose, so I can make sure it's running freely and not clogged up.

Hi,
Did you note Sleepwalkers comment re two types of filter. The charcoal is more expensive because it is there to absorb this sort of smell. Your description suggests it is just a dust filter. You really need to replace rather than "blow it off". Did you happen to note the date on the filter. As Sleepwalker said these things are supposed to be changed at most service intervals. It is often overlooked during service although I'm sure the charge for change isn't. A bit tricky and very unlikely the customer will go look if it has been changed.
Filter is positioned above "water line" in the casing and should therefore NOT be wet unless drain is blocked.
Try Sleepwalkers test again and see where the water drips onto the ground...if it does. That should help you locate the orifice.

Thanks for clarifying all that. I wasn't aware that the mentioned charcoal filter was an option. (I'd thought he meant there were actually 2 filter elements.) I'll re-open that filter area and have a look. As for drainage, I've run it a couple times and am NOT finding ANY drainage!!! I've laid under the psgr side, both in front of and behind the front wheelwell, looking for a drain hose, and have been unable to locate it.

Hi,

how do I access the dust filter holder? How do I remove the bottom cover?

Thanks,

Francesco
