Hi to all MB lovers.
It"s about A/C and I think you can help me.These are the sympoms:
When I start the climate control in cooling mode or in heating mode,does"nt matter wich,the driver side vents and defoging vent allways give me hot air and the passenger side vents give only cool air.I took the car to an Indy worksop but they were not able to trace the problem and suggest to overhaul the dash .What do you think?Can you give me a tip or two from yor experience pls.
I appreciate any thread you give me.

I have a 93 600 MB. Your symptoms do occur as a malfunction, probably your duo valves for front A/C system. You can do self identification with on-board diagnostics, using the dash a/c controls to find aany faults in the A/C - Heating system. Suggest subscribing to www.alldata.com and also looking at http://pages.prodigy.net/jforgione/MB_S500.html

The dash A/C-heat controls and electronic panel and inside car ducting and air routing mechanisms rarely go bad, it is usually the duo valves, connections, common problems, etc.

Tnx WMERCER.I"ve tried the second test several times(DTC codes) but end up allways with the results from the first test(the one about the sensors status).I don"t know what"s going on.Do you think the second is not valid for all W140 models?

 

Finally I manage to run the DTCs test,but there is no error in the sys. .Shows me only E000 and not any other error code, so I guess it must be some mechanical failure that the soft can"t recognise.I"ll check the duo-valve first.
