I'm new to this forum, but thought I'd put this out there. My '86 560 SL won't pass the CA Smog and I can't afford the major engine work required (first est. over $10K!!) and besides that the repair is more than the car is currently worth. But it still is a beautiful car...and MUST be worth some $$ to someone if only for parts (everything works, exterior and interior still beautiful, always garaged, etc.) I could go to my local Mercedes dealer, but assume they won't be very helpful. Need suggestions for creative solutions to selling for top dollar in San Francisco Bay Area (anyplace within driving distance 50 miles of San Rafael).
