My 300d (87) wont start, I put a charger on it and finally got it to run after about 20-25 attempts and this all started after the tempeture fell below 32F at nightI've heard it could be a glow plug, I know to measure the plug to ensure it's not open. What I don't know is where to measure, the location (under the hood), any pictures would be helpful. I also know the car should have a "block heater" I don't see the power cord, where is the block heater so I can put a new power cord on it. I am pretty mechanically & technically savy and have 3 other '87 300e's but this is my first Diesel. Any suggestions?

your block cord if their should be behind the removeable pannel on the right side under the bumper. If not go back to the side of the block and look for it.
