1999 e320 wont stay running
Several things can cause this.
Make sure that the engine is in good "tune". In other words, has it been a while since the Fuel Filter has been replaced? How about the Plugs, etc.. etc..? If it's been a while, I'd start there --> give it a complete "FULL" tune-up, including the fuel filter.
Test the battery. Just because it's charged does not make it good. Preferably give it a load test. That way you'll know its true condition. Also you may have a vacuum leak somewhere. Look and listen closely to the engine.
Also, do you have a Check Engine Light on?
Run the codes -- If you come back with fuel trim errors.... go here and try this --> http://www.louv.tv/cars/m5/MAF/
It is shown on a BMW, but yours should look pretty close to it. It's located right off the Air Filter Box. I typically use radio shack's precision electronics cleaner and have had excellent results with it. I usually clean it, then install a new air filter, clear the codes and she's good to go.
If no check engine light.
Checkout the fuel pump relay.
Check out the Crankshaft Position Sensor.
Hope this helps.
