Hi guys,

Just made an account, because Google has been pointing me here for a few days now. I had to fly home this Christmas from school and inherited a buddy's '84 300D with 348,000mi on the clock as my beater for the month.

Of course, it didn't start in the cold, the fuel pump sucked air, if you tried to lock the driver's side door, you couldn't turn off the engine with the key, the climate control didn't work (and I just returned to PA from Arizona, so heat is friggin' necessary), and cruise was out. Did I mention it didn't start in the cold?

So, props to you guys (and whoever's runnin' dieselgiant.com) for the wealth of information here, after a few feet of vacuum line, a diesel purge, and some new glow plugs (among other junk), that baby runs great. First time I ever mucked around with a diesel!
