Am I missing something. I've been looking for a 2003 or 2004 MB diesel. Seems like they must have skipped those years. I can't find any listed on any of the common used car search engines. Seems anything before 1999 is out there and then 2005 and up.

Nope, you didn't the only diesel offered was in 2005, an E class. I live in Mass, my dealer is across the border in CT. they counldn't sell me a diesel and they don't meet MA emission standards, But are OK in CT??

From what I heard last diesel Mercedes sold new in California was in 1985.
But I might be wrong ... by couple of years.

I guess I should update my profile. I'm in Cherry Hill NJ non CARB state. But since I'm looking for used 2003-2004 that wont even matter. From what I understand any CARB state will allow a Diesel to be registered once it is used and has more then 7500 miles on it. At least I think I remember this right. There could be more details to this.

I guess I just find it odd that if I look on ebay, do a search for diesel MB's and sort by year it goes from 2005 then skips to 1999. No 04, 03, 02, 01, or 00. Same is true for for autotrader or any other large used car site. That is why I ask what happened to those years for MB
